Well, there have been a couple interesting developments in quantum computing yesterday - one of which is from a BC company.

Canadian company successfully demos quantum computer

This computer won't be breaking 2048 bit encryption any time soon but it's a awesome step in the right direction. A Scientific American report on the event has some more information on the 'computer' itself.
