Sigh.
So close, so very close.

| So, Angela's, ummm, let's see, selfish sister dragged my future boss into the picture when I sent her an apparently too-honest email. I used no bad words, no swearing and no pejoratives but I was very blunt about what I thought her role in my hiring was. This was in response, of course, to a whiny email from her suggesting that she should thanked wayyyy more than we had and that she might be owed money for being a 'head-hunter' (never mind that she didn't tell Bill what I did or me what Bill did, or that she neglected to inform either one of us about the other's looking for position/employees in Vancouver).
The upshot was that the email that 'he' (prolly he + she, to be precise) sent to me indicated that in the future, there would apparently be no separation between personal and professional; as such, I had to decline the job offer. It just would not have been a good idea to take it.
Sigh.
So, I'm headin' to frickin' Calgary. Woohoo. Angela's happy and I'll be happy to see her, of course, but still ... what a lousy few days. |
